Why a Nikah template

Why most invite makers don't suit a Nikah

Three functions, two hosting families and timings that follow the namaz — a generic card misses all three.

  • Functions with different hosts

The Nikah is usually hosted by the bride's family and the Walima by the groom's — guests need both families' numbers and both venues.

  • Timings that follow the namaz

“After Asr” or “after Isha” means more to many guests than a clock time — but most invites only have one time field.

  • No place for Bismillah

Western-style templates have nowhere natural for Arabic script or an Urdu line — the first thing many elders look for.

With Shaadi Invitation

A Nikah card that reads right

  • Bismillah and a welcome message already in place
  • Mehndi Night, Nikah Ceremony and Walima Reception listed
  • Each function's own venue, time and Google Maps link
  • Call buttons for the bride's and groom's families
  • Namaz-linked timings and Urdu lines in your own words

  • Small Nikah, big Walima

A Nikah at home with close family and a larger Walima — switch on “at home” for the first.

Practical notes

Small details that help Nikah guests

Lines worth adding to your welcome message so guests arrive at the right time and place.

  • Write namaz-linked timings in words

Put an approximate clock time on the Nikah card, and say “after Asr” or “after Isha” in the welcome message for guests who plan around prayers.

  • Name the host of each function

If the Walima is hosted by the groom's family, say so — and make sure both families' numbers are on the invite.

  • Mention separate seating

If women and men will be seated separately, a short line saves families from splitting up at the gate.

  • Pin the right entrance

For a masjid or a large banquet hall, pin the entrance guests should use — especially if it differs for women.
